The following pages are for the benefit of my friends and family who have a special interest in hiking. They are often keen to understand the reasoning behind my particular choices of equipment, my experiences of using it, and what I would recommend to others.  As these observations can sometimes be tedious to those who are more concerned with the walk itself, I have set them aside as appendices to the main report.

Les pages suivantes sont destinées à mes amis et à ma famille qui s'intéressent particulièrement à la randonnée. Ils sont souvent désireux de comprendre la logique qui sous-tend mes choix particuliers d'équipement, mes expériences d'utilisation et ce que je recommanderais aux autres. Comme ces observations peuvent parfois être ennuyeuses pour ceux qui s'intéressent davantage à la promenade elle-même, je les ai mises de côté en annexe au rapport principal.
