MÈZE

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's funeral - so not quite the day I had originally planned. I grabbed a ride with a local driver for the short distance from the Domaine de Selhac into Mèze, arriving just after 11am. That gave me time to check in to the local hotel, where I had booked a room, then I set up the WiFi, VPN and BBC IPlayer in time to watch Her late Majesty's funeral service, live from Westminster Abbey.

I found a quiet corner so I could pay my respects properly, as a Queen's Scout. It is, after all, the last time I will be able to do that. After the service I had a salad lunch in the pub, toasted the health of the new king, and then went out for a walk to clear my head. The little port of Mèze is quite lovely, so I took a 360 degree video shot for you this time.

Les funérailles de Sa Majesté la Reine Elizabeth II - donc pas tout à fait le jour que j'avais prévu.  J'ai fait un tour avec un chauffeur local pour la courte distance du Domaine de Selhac à Mèze, en arrivant juste après 11h. Cela m'a donné le temps de m'enregistrer à l'hôtel local, où j'avais réservé une chambre, puis de configurer le WiFi, le VPN et l'IPlayer de la BBC à temps pour regarder les funérailles de Sa Majesté, en direct de l'Abbaye de Westminster.

J'ai trouvé un coin tranquille pour pouvoir rendre mes hommages correctement, en tant qu'un  Eclaireur de la Reine. C'est, après tout, la dernière fois que je pourrai le faire. Après le service, j'ai mangé une salade à l'hôtel, j'ai j'ai trinqué à la santé du nouveau roi, puis je suis sorti me promener pour me vider la tête. Le petit port de Mèze est assez charmant, alors j'ai pris une vidéo à 360 degrés pour vous cette fois. 

 

  

Staying so close to Occitanie's famous oyster and mussel beds, I chose mussels for dinner that night. They were cooked in marinière sauce, with carrots celery and onions. They were accompanied by frites and an IPA (pronounced eee-pay-aah in this part of the world). Tomorrow is shaping up to be another interesting day. They seem to just keep coming one after another.

Restant si près des célèbres parcs à huîtres et à moules d'Occitanie, j'ai choisi des moules pour le dîner ce soir-là. Ils étaient préparés dans une sauce marinière, avec des carottes, du céleri et des oignons. Ils étaient accompagnés de frites et d'une IPA (prononcé eee-pay-aah dans cette partie du monde). Demain s'annonce comme une autre journée intéressante. Ils semblent continuer à venir les uns après les autres.
